“Indy Do Day” Co-Chairs Named

Treadwell and Schiele to Lead Indy's Biggest Community Days of Service

(Indianapolis, IN): Indy Do Day, an initiative of the Rotary Club of Indianapolis, has named Michael Schiele and Lisa Treadwell as co-chairs of the 2016 Indy Do Day event. Last year, the effort engaged over 15,000 volunteers from over 300 businesses, civic organizations, schools, and non-profits.

Treadwell, the owner and Team Leader of The Indy Real Estate Experts at Keller Williams Realty, and Schiele, an account executive with Myriad Genetic Laboratories, will organize and lead the build-up and implementation of Indy Do Day September 29, 30 and October 1, 2016.

"It is a great honor to serve our fantastic city in such a capacity,” said Treadwell. “We're excited to help make Indy Do Day 2016 fun for everyone involved, including the volunteers, non-profit organizations, and the behind-the-scenes support. Michael and I have a vision to make Indy Do Day one of the largest days of service in the country!”

Indy Do Day consists of several days when the people of Indianapolis get to know their neighbors, take ownership of their neighborhoods and take care of one another via  decentralized, ground-up, people-powered community improvement efforts. The event is open to individuals, companies, businesses, groups, non-profits, or other organizations, and the projects can be as easy or complex as the group wishes.

“We are getting the Indy Do Day Leadership Team together now and planning the greatest experience possible,” Schiele explained. “We are humbled by the support we have from the community, our Indianapolis Rotary Club, and most importantly, our predecessors, Ramona Adams and Don Steffy. This is going to be an amazing ride!"

Indy Do Day is a framework for service and action, and does not organize or approve community projects.
