Indianapolis Labor Day Weekend 2013 Events and Festivals

From Fishers to Carmel, Noblesville to Broad Ripple, Avon to Cicero, Labor Day weekend 2013 in the Indianapolis area will be loaded with all of the traditional end-of-summer festivities. I thought I'd highlight just a few here that may be of interest to you - Lisa

WARM Fest - the White River Arts and Music Festival - lights up Broad Ripple Park in Indianapolis on Labor Day weekend, August 31 through September 2, 2013.

Five musical stages will be jammed the entire three days of the event, with a massive lineup of musicians headlined by Mayer Hawthorne, Big Head Todd, and Michael Franti and Spearhead.

On Monday morning, September 2, a 4 mile run/walk throughout the area will benefit the Broad Ripple Neighborhood Association, followed by a group yoga session.

The event is run by (and proceeds benefit) the Carl G. Fisher Society.

The Midwest Madness Car and Truck Show motors around Indianapolis on Labor Day Weekend, with events scheduled Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday. The event is open to cars, trucks, motorcycles, hot rods, classics, and anything custom. Participation packages include a racing and track day, with the event - of course - also open to spectators.

From fast cars to killer polka....

Beer, sausage, and polka! Sign me up! Sunday, September 1, 2013 the Indianapolis Slovenian society will continue their annual celebration with a festival at the Slovenian National Home Picnic Grounds. The Slovenian Festival opens the gates at 10 am with Mass at noon. Come celebrate in this rich heritage with food, beer and music. There is a $5 admission fee but kids 16 and under are free.

The 2nd Annual White River Festival at the Indiana State Museum in White River Park is a free event that takes place Sunday, September 1, 2013, and then continues throughout the entire month of September. What's the festival's theme? The White River as an important drinking water source for Indianapolis. With a bunch of kid-centric activities, this is an especially viable entertainment and family-friendly spot for Labor Day Weekend in Indianapolis and all month long.
