Why This Indianapolis Realtor Loves the 2012 5K Color Run

Billed as the "craziest, most colorful 5k run of your life" the annual "Color Run" is coming to downtown Indianapolis on July 28, 2012.

And crazy it is as a combination of runners, walkers, strutters, Indianapolis real estate agents, mallwalkers and moms and dads with strollers make their way along the 5k course, enjoying a regular dousing of various colors comprised of food starch. Yes, every time a participant reaches a kilometer milestone (can you use the word "mile" to describe a kilometer?) the runner or walker is assaulted with various hues. 

"Each kilometer of the event is associated with a designated color. 1k is yellow, 2k is blue, 3k is green, 4k is pink, and the 5k finish is a “Color Extravaganza.”  As the runners/walkers hit the Kilometer COLOR RUN Zones, they will be blitzed by our volunteers, sponsors, and staff with COLOR," describes the Color Run's website.

But rest easy. The coloring is a 100% percent safe food starch that can be eaten, although apparently it's not especially tasty.
